Exit and emergency lights are often required in multi-unit residential,
commercial and industrial buildings. According to NFPA 101 Life Safety
Code and NFPA 70, emergency lighting should provide illumination
automatically in the event of any interruption of electricity or normal
lighting.
Also, exits should be marked by an approved sign readily visible from any
direction of exit access. OSHA Section 1910.36 required that “in every
building or structure equipped with artificial illumination, adequate and
reliable illumination shall be provided for all exit facilities…and where
provided, shall be continuously in proper operating condition.”
Even though emergency lighting is a key component in any facility’s
safety equipment package, it is often neglected. Battery powered
emergency lighting units require periodic maintenance and testing to
assure their proper performance.
We carry a full line of exit and emergency light fixtures, in addition to
supplies, bulbs, and batteries.
Our inspections and service includes:
- External & internal inspection of the light cabinet
- Checking and replacing of bulbs
- Testing the lights charging functions
- Load test & cycle battery to determine if it is capable of delivering
required performance of 1 ½ hours of continuous illumination for
emergency lighting.
- Provide written service report
